Since the use of dental imaging is ubiquitous in dental practices, the course also provides a review of dental radiography appropriate for dental hygienists and dentists.
Lecture presentations will emphasize the potential hazards associated with the use of ionizing radiation and safety precautions to be utilized in dental radiography. Time permitting, the theory and techniques used for the placement, exposure, and processing of dental radiographs will be reviewed.
