Membership for Licensed Dentists

By joining the Maryland State Dental Association (MSDA), members automatically join their local component societies in their immediate practice areas and ADA. Through this arrangement, members receive services and benefits related to organized dentistry at local/district, state and national levels.

Tripartite membership is mutually supportive. The unity it fosters produces a consistent voice across the country and at the international level. By joining together, fewer activities are duplicated; this allows each society to concentrate on providing the services it performs best and most efficiently.

Membership in the Maryland State Dental Association has many benefits designed not only to help you in your daily practice but also to further the development of the dental profession. Discover the valuable ways MSDA membership can help you navigate challenges in your career, business and life.

If you would like to join and prefer to submit an online application, click here. If you have been an MSDA member in the past and would like to renew your membership, you do not need to fill out the application — please contact MSDA Membership for reinstatement information.

For questions about becoming a member, dues amounts, waivers and more, contact MSDA Membership. For answers to questions such as “How much are dues?” or “How long does my membership last?”, please see Frequently Asked Questions about ADA Membership.

Renew Your MSDA Membership

Membership dues should be remitted in full or through an installment payment plan established by Jan. 1st of each calendar year. If dues have not been paid in full or an installment payment plan is not established, members will discontinue receiving tripartite membership benefits as of Mar. 31st of each calendar year.

For questions about your membership dues statement, contact MSDA Membership.

MSDA Members have options for paying membership dues online:

Click here to pay dues online!

PAY IN FULL – Simply use your ADA login information to pay your membership dues.

What do you do if you do not remember you ADA User ID or password? You can retrieve and/or reset your User ID and/or password at “I forgot my User ID or password.”

DUES INSTALLMENT PAYMENT PLANS– MSDA offers monthly installment payment plans.

There is no additional fee to pay your dues through an installment payment plan. You can opt into the installment plan options when you pay online or contact MSDA Membership for assistance.

No refunds will be provided for cancelled memberships. By enrolling in a membership, the “membership year” spans a calendar year from January through December and not a 12-month period from the date of enrollment. If plan payments are cancelled before dues are paid in full for the current year, membership will be cancelled and all benefits will cease.

AUTO-RENEWAL – SET UP AUTOMATIC RENEWAL AND YOU NO LONGER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MISSING A MEMBERSHIP DUES PAYMENT!

Members have a new way to pay dues that provides a safe and convenient way to maintain membership and benefits. The Auto-Renewal Plan allows your dues to be automatically renewed and paid with your credit card each year.

The MSDA will process annual auto-renewal one-time payments in January each year.

No refunds will be provided for cancelled memberships. By enrolling in a membership, the “membership year” spans a calendar year from January through December and not a 12-month period from the date of enrollment. Retired Membership

Congratulations on your retirement!

Now it’s time to update your membership status. Retired Membership is available to an active member in good standing who has been an active member and is now a retired member of a constituent society, if such exists, and is no longer earning an income from the performance of  service as a member of the faculty of a dental school, as a dental administrator or consultant, or as a practitioner of any activity for which a license to practice dentistry or dental hygiene is required by the state.

If the following requirements apply, you may be eligible for a much-deserved retired membership discount. Please complete this form.  If approved by your local component, an adjusted renewal rate will be sent to you.

Life Membership

Life Membership is automatically granted to current members who have at least 30 consecutive or 40 total years of membership. Life status then becomes effect in the following membership year.  New Life members should expect to receive a note regarding Life status from the ADA in the late spring/early summer.

Temporary and Permanent Waivers

Often an unexpected, yet temporary, health or financial setback will keep from being able to pay your full dues invoice. A full or partial waiver is available to a member in good standing whose circumstances have resulted in a significant financial hardship, including temporary or permanent disability, catastrophe, parental leave, or medical illness.

If this is the case, contact MSDA Membership and complete a dues waiver form for consideration. If approved by your local component, an adjusted renewal rate will be sent to you if dues are still applicable.

Affiliate Membership

If you are a member of another ADA state association and would like to also be a member of the Maryland State Dental Association, please complete this form

Associate Membership (Non-dentist)

Individual other than a dentist who is engaged in an area of activity related to dentistry and has a vested interest in the affairs of the Maryland State Dental Association. This is an INDIVIDUAL membership, not a company membership.

My ADA

After you login, update your contact information online under “My ADA.”

We strongly encourage you update your contact Information, including your profile picture. This is used for mail and email correspondence and for the online ‘Find A Dentist’ directory, which now is the same across national, state and local websites. If you do not include a photo in your profile, an avatar like the one below will appear and your profile will appear lower in ranking when a potential patient searches for a dentist in your area.
